Oahu is the Mecca for water sports enthusiasts. Kailua Bay offers superb windsurfing and kayaking. The Northshore has Hawaii's most famous surfing beaches: Sunset, Waimea, and Ehukai (with world-famous Bonzai Pipeline). Makaha Beach, the hot spot for bodysurfing and international surf competitions, is well known for the famous love scene in From Here To Eternity.

A scuba dive at Three Tables or Shark's Cove will be an unforgettable experience. Malaekahana State Recreation Area offers a secluded beach and at low tide, you can wade out to Mokuauia Island, a bird sanctuary. At the end of an active day, Kualoa Park is perfect for a barbeque with great views of Mokolii Island (better known as Chinaman's Hat). As well as natural beauty with waterfalls and rainbows hidden all around, Oahu boasts Ulupo Heiau, an ancient Hawaiian temple, and Byodo-in Temple, an amazing replica of the 900 year-old Buddhist temple at Uji, Japan.

Visit the infamous Pearl Harbour with free trips to the battleship, USS Arizona. Punch Bowl, an area of lush lawns in the caldera of an extinct volcano, is the site of the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific where the dead from all US Pacific wars including Vietnam are buried. Nighttime in paradise might be a luau on the beach, a romantic stroll in the tropical moonlight, a surf into the sunset or a roaring nightclub in the heart of the city. Whatever your mood, Oahu has something for everyone.

Take a whiff of the scent of an island, breathe it in and you'll be coming back forever.
